Hi all,
As we all enter the time we have between harvest and planting I know I’ve been solidifying my seeds and clones. With all the drama with seeds being fugazi or unproductive who do you trust to obtain your seeds or clones? Are you planting CBG for compliance or have you secured a compliant clone/seed bank you’d like to share with others? As an industry participant are you growing CBD or CBG, flower, high CBD biomass or industrial (grain, seed, fiber)?
Any success stories to share?
Looking forward to hearing from you!
At Cultivaris we use biotech tools like tissue culture and qPCR testing to identify and remove hidden viral, bacterial and fungal diseases that can weaken and kill plants. Once plants have moved through our rigorous testing and restoration process, they are considered Super Elite (SEE) stock and are held in tissue culture to protect them from infection. Multiplied in the lab and weaned in a greenhouse, they form the foundation of our Elite Motherstock from which many millions of cuttings are produced.
In my opinion, there are several reasons to chose clones over seeds. First being a superior phenotype. My companies clones have been bred from a single mother of each variety that has been selected for qualities such as, high CBD, low THC, high yield in terms of weight, pest/disease resistant and so on. Along with this you get a consistent phenotype and consistent growth throughout the field. Generally, hemp farmers are planting a fully rooted plant whether it is a seedling or clone. By the time you germinate and grow a seedling or purchase one then you’ve almost spent as much per plant as we sell our clones for. So with the other benefits it’s almost a no brainier to go with clones.
